Baseball Season Update

posted Feb 21, 2012 8:03 AM by West Whittaker   [ updated Feb 21, 2012 8:51 AM ]

Shetland, Pinto, Mustang and Bronco teams have been created and your coaches will be contacting you shortly to inform you of your first baseball practices.  The Pony division draft will occur early next week.  We will post the teams to the web-site soon.  Opening Day is Saturday, March 10th with details to follow.  If you did not drop off a copy of your birth certificate at Skills Evaluation Day, please remember that you must drop one off on Opening Day.

Please do not forget that we are instituting a “recycle” program for your gently-used baseball equipment and apparel.  Many of our children have outgrown, or barely used, much of their baseball equipment and apparel.  This is the perfect opportunity to find a new home for all that gear.  Our league has many new families with young players that would greatly appreciate any of these items.  Please bring your baseball gear (i.e. bats, gloves, balls, cleats, helmets, baseball pants) early to Opening Day, or give it to one of our Board Members.  We will organize and distribute the gear at our Opening Day festivities to many of our new and younger players.

Today, Carmel High School baseball will be hosting the first of two clinics this spring (February 21st-23rd and April 10th-12th) at the Carmel High School baseball fields.  The cost is only $30/day or $75 for all three days.  All proceeds go to help the baseball program.

Dates:         2/21/12 - 2/23/12
Times:

Shetland and Pinto - 10:00 AM -12:00 PM
                  Mustang, Bronco & Pony  - 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Please register and pay on-site prior to the start of your child's clinic.

Change of Skills Evaluation Day

posted Jan 20, 2012 8:43 AM by West Whittaker   [ updated Jan 20, 2012 9:01 AM ]

Due to the rain expected to last for the next several days and the cumulative effect on the condition of the baseball fields, we are moving the Skills Evaluation Day from this Sunday, January 22nd to Sunday, January 29th.  The same schedule for each division and age group will apply.  Your child's age group is his/her age as of April 30th, 2012.

If you are interested in coaching this year, please go to the “Coach’s Registration Form“ on our web-site and fill in the form.  Every year, we need new parents in all divisions to run and assist the player’s baseball development.  Prior to the beginning of the season, we will hold a Coach’s Clinic to assist all coaches in coaching techniques and to provide some consistency of baseball skill set development across all teams in each division.

Please bring your baseball gear (i.e. bats, gloves, balls, cleats, helmets, baseball pants) to our Skills Evaluation Day registration table on Sunday, January 29th at the Larson baseball fields below the Carmel Mission.  We will organize and distribute the gear at our Opening Day festivities to many of our new and younger players.
