If you have not already done so, please register your child for the 2012 Carmel Unified Youth Baseball (CUYB) baseball season at: 2012 CUYB Registration and Payment Forms. The early registration process will continue until January 20th, 2012. All players in the Pinto, Mustang, Bronco and Pony divisions who register and pay on-line by January 20th receive a $15 discount. Regular registration commences January 21st, but will be at the higher annual fees.
Sunday January 22nd, CUYB will be conducting our Skills Evaluation Day for all registered 7-yr to 12-yr old players (Pinto, Mustang and Bronco players) at Larson Field near Carmel Mission. The Larson Field Snack Bar will be open. We will also be sponsoring a complimentary baseball clinic for each age division. Pony division players will be conducting their Skills Evaluation Day at the Carmel Middle School Pony field. All players should bring their own bats, gloves, helmets and cleats as they will be participating in all phases of the sport. CUYB will have spare bats and helmets available if needed.
If you have not registered and/or paid, please arrive 30 minutes prior to the start time below to finish the process. All players must check-in and bring a copy (not the original) of your child’s birth certificate which will be kept confidential and will verify division status.
We are instituting a “recycle” program for your gently-used baseball equipment and apparel. Many of our children have outgrown, or barely used, much of their baseball equipment and apparel. This is the perfect opportunity to find a new home for all that gear. Our league has many new families with young players that would greatly appreciate any of these items. Please bring your baseball gear (i.e. bats, gloves, balls, cleats, helmets, baseball pants) to our Skills Evaluation Day registration table on Sunday, January 22nd at the Larson baseball fields below the Carmel Mission. We will organize and distribute the gear at our Opening Day festivities to many of our new and younger players.
13 – 14 Year old’s Skills Evaluation Day starts at 9:00 a.m. There will not be a baseball clinic for 13-yr and 14-yr old Pony Division players.
There are no Skill
Evaluations, nor Clinics, for 4-6 year old Shetland Players. All Mustang division coaches are required to evaluate the Bronco level players (2:45 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.) and the Bronco division coaches are required to evaluate the Mustang level players (12:15 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.). Please contact your Division Director for further details.
We also need volunteers for various responsibilities throughout the year (see CUYB Volunteers Needed). We need to fill the Grant Writer post as soon as possible. This position would locate and apply for various local grants to assist the development of our league. He/She would work with the V.P. Communications on grant follow-up.
Please also periodically check our Teaching Clinics web-page: Baseball Teaching Clinics for details about local baseball clinics. Carmel High School baseball will be hosting two clinics this spring (February 21st-23rd and April 10th-12th) at very reasonable rates for your sons or daughters. All proceeds go to help the baseball program. Please see details on our web-site page. |
